Commitment to Protection
We understand the immense value of intellectual property in the motion pictures industry. As such, we have implemented comprehensive strategies to safeguard the rights of our members and ensure that their creative works are respected and protected.
Combatting Piracy
Piracy poses a significant threat to the livelihoods of filmmakers and the sustainability of the industry as a whole. MPI-Rwanda is committed to taking proactive steps to combat piracy in all its forms, whether it be through illegal downloads, counterfeit DVDs, or unauthorized streaming platforms.
Enforcement Efforts
Our enforcement efforts are multifaceted and relentless. We work closely with law enforcement agencies, government authorities, and international partners to identify and take action against individuals and organizations involved in the illegal distribution of movies. Through legal channels, we pursue prosecutions and seek damages for copyright infringement, sending a clear message that piracy will not be tolerated.
Public Awareness
In addition to enforcement actions, MPI-Rwanda places a strong emphasis on raising public awareness about the negative consequences of piracy. Through educational campaigns, public outreach initiatives, and media partnerships, we strive to educate consumers about the importance of supporting legitimate channels for accessing and enjoying movies.
Collaboration and Support
Safeguarding intellectual property rights requires collective effort and collaboration. MPI-Rwanda actively collaborates with other industry stakeholders, including content creators, distributors, exhibitors, and technology companies, to develop and implement effective anti-piracy strategies. We also provide support and guidance to our members, offering resources and assistance to help them navigate the complex landscape of intellectual property rights enforcement.
